Consists of records documenting publicity for National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) exhibitions during the tenure of Thomas R. Harney, Science Information Officer in the News Bureau of the Office of Public Affairs, 1969-1976; Writer-Editor at NMNH, 1976-1990; and Public Information Officer, 1990-1994. Materials include press releases, clippings, photographs and negatives, and other miscellaneous materials created and collected by Harney. Also includes slides of exhibitions at NMNH, or individual specimens within the exhibitions.
