Summary

Consists of outgoing correspondence concerning examination and identification of specimens, collecting expeditions, listings of determinations made on plants, and manuscripts. Research staff of the Division of Plants represented in these materials include Joseph Nelson Rose, Assistant Curator and Curator, 1897-1911, 1917-1928; Ellsworth Paine Killip, Aid, Assistant Curator, Associate Curator, and Curator, 1919-1947; Paul Carpenter Standley, Assistant Curator, 1909-1922; and Jason Richard Swallen, while he was employed by the Bureau of Plant Industry, United States Department of Agriculture, 1936-1946, and by the Department of Botany, 1946-1965.
