Descriptive Entry
This accession consists mostly of files documenting the exhibitions developed by the Curatorial Office, National Museum of American Art (NMAA), from 1982 to 1993. The exhibition files document all stages of exhibition planning, and include exhibition prospectuses; timetables and schedules; expense reports; loan agreements; fundraising information; contracts with guest curators and consultants; object checklists; conservation information; information on publications arising from exhibitions; memoranda and budgets for public programs associated with exhibitions; and press releases and clippings.
The accession also contains files on the Museum's Registry of New Deal Art dating from 1965 to 1979. The records include an alphabetic correspondence file, and files of correspondence with state museum and cultural representatives, arranged alphabetically by state.
