Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records that primarily document administrative activities of the National Museum of American History (NMAH), Office of the Director, concerning NMAH departments, divisions, and exhibitions. Some of the records date prior to 1980, when NMAH was known as the National Museum of History and Technology. Materials include records pertaining to the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in the Arts and Industries Building; proposals for exhibitions such as Treaty of Paris Anniversary (1982) and Women in History (1979); correspondence between NMAH and the United States Patent Model Foundation (USPMF), in regard to collections management, symposia, and fundraising efforts for various joint NMAH-USPMF related projects; information pertaining to the Invent America campaign; and photographs of the Hart House.
