Summary

Florence Merriam Bailey (1863-1948), an amateur ornithologist and naturalist, wrote many papers and books on birds. These papers consist of diaries, 1874, 1887; journals kept on trips to Bermuda, 1890; California, 1907 and undated; and Maine, 1911; expense account books; a scrapbook; articles and newspaper clippings about Bailey; essays, papers, and memorabilia from her years as a student at Smith College; manuscripts of papers on birds; reading lists; one letter; and family photographs.
