Notes

  • Stuart Taylor Danforth (1900-1938) received his B. S. degree in 1921 from Rutgers University and the Ph.D. in 1925 from Cornell. From 1925 to 1926 he was an instructor in biology at Temple University; and from 1926 until his death, he served as professor of zoology and entomology in the College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts at Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. His main research interest was in the birds of the West Indies. Danforth's bird collection is now housed in the National Museum of Natural History.
