  • Vernon Sennock Lyonesse-Liancour Pate (1903-1958) was born in Philadelphia and educated at Cornell. He was an Instructor in Taxonomy at Cornell from 1932 to 1947 and Assistant Professor from 1948 to 1952. His research specialty was the classification of wasps.
