Summary:

This collection consists mostly of records created during scientific voyages of the Bureau of Fisheries vessel Albatross. Included are dredging records, meteorological observations, hydrographic sounding records, and water temperature and specific gravity readings. Also included are reports of Albatross naturalist, James E. Benedict, 1883-1885; records concerning collections transferred by the Bureau of Fisheries to the United States National Museum, 1888-1910; and a record of photographs made by the United States Fish Commission, 1887-1891.

Descriptive Entry

This collection consists mostly of records created during scientific voyages of the Bureau of Fisheries vessel Albatross. Included are dredging records, meteorological observations, hydrographic sounding records, and water temperature and specific gravity readings. Also included are reports of Albatross naturalist, James E. Benedict, 1883-1885; records concerning collections transferred by the Bureau of Fisheries to the United States National Museum, 1888-1910; and a record of photographs made by the United States Fish Commission, 1887-1891.
