Peale, A. C. (Albert Charles), 1849-1914
Albert Charles Peale Papers, circa 1891
Albert Charles Peale (1849-1914) joined Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden on the United States Geological and Geographical Survey of the Territories in 1871. In 1898, the United States National Museum appointed Peale as aid in charge of the paleobotany section of the Department of Geology, and he held that position until his death.
These papers consist of Peale's manuscript biography and a bibliography of Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden which apparently was meant to be published as a Bulletin of the United States National Museum, but never was.
