Finding Aids to Records of Professional Societies in the Smithsonian Institution Archives
Record Unit 7163
The Vivarium Society was founded in 1925 by a group of Washington area naturalists who were actively interested in the study of natural history in the field, and in the maintenance of vivariums for scientific observations on living specimens. Activities centered around field trips and monthly meetings at which members or guests reported on their recent research.
This record unit consists of the Constitution of the Vivarium Society; minutes of meetings; correspondence; newspaper clippings; membership lists; and photographs.
