Historical Note

In 1981 the Office of Design and Construction (ODC) was created from the Office of Facilities Planning and Engineering Services (OFPES). OFPES was the successor organization to the Buildings Management Department (BMD).

Phillip K. Reiss was Director, ODC, 1981- . The Office consisted of four branches: Planning, Design, Construction, and Visual Communications. In 1984 the Visual Communications branch was moved under the administration of the Office of Plant Services.
