Summary:

These records consist primarily of incoming and outgoing correspondence compiled by the Division of Fishes, circa 1965-1978. Most of the correspondence is from ichthyologists, collectors, donors, and students and concerns the identification, exchange and distribution of specimens; collecting work; and requests for publications. Also found in the records are written copies of annual report submissions, circa 1891-1972, and budget estimates, circa 1885-1974.

Curators and other staff members of the Division of Fishes represented by correspondence in these records include Ernest A. Lachner, Curator in Charge, 1965-1966, Supervisor and Curator, 1967, and Curator, 1968-1978; Victor G.
