Summary:

These records contain annual reports of the Department and its predecessors, 1922-1970, including curators' and divisional reports, statistics on specimens and accessions, and publications lists; plans of operations, 1927-1951, 1953-1966; and requisitions for purchase of specimens, 1964-1971. Also included are reports to the Department on activities of staff of the Division of Insect Identification, United States Department of Agriculture, who were located in the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). These reports are filed with the NMNH Department or Division reports for the corresponding year.

Descriptive Entry

These records contain annual reports of the Department and its predecessors, 1922-1970, including curators' and divisional reports, statistics on specimens and accessions, and publications lists; plans of operations, 1927-1951, 1953-1966; and requisitions for purchase of specimens, 1964-1971. Also included are reports to the Department on activities of United States Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine, and Division of Insect Identification personnel stationed in the museum. These reports are filed with the Department or Division reports for the corresponding year.
