These records consist of receipts from the National Museum for specimens loaned or given to individuals and institutions. Before 1891, substantial correspondence is included; after that date, there are mostly copies of receipts. People represented in the records include Richard Rathbun, Frederick William True, G. Brown Goode, and Charles D. Walcott. See also Specimen Distribution Records and Specimen Distribution Record Books, Record Units 186 and 120 respectively.
