PrintThis field book contains notes from specimen lists, notes from Jamaica, newspaper clippings, and miscellaneous notes. The first few pages of the notebook contain a list of neuoptera from approximately June 1876 with physical descriptions including sex, color, sketches. The bulk of notes within this field book are on Hubbard's trip to Jamaica from 26 March to 19 April 1877. Hubbard describes the flora and fauna found in the various locations he visited in Jamaica including caves, meadows, streams, and many coral reefs. He notes capturing a bat, butterflies, and beetles (coleoptera), and makes detailed observations on 5 termite nests (sketches included). Also included is a list of wasp specimens numbered 1-14 entitled "Camp geological survey of Kentucky, Pennington’s Gap Lee co Va" and a map of Pennington Gap. Newspaper clippings and miscellaneous notes also included.
