Abstract

This field book is part of the animal research data of the Division of Zoological Research of the National Zoological Park (U. S.), which conducted research documenting the toque macaque of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The research was mostly performed by Research Associate Wolfgang P. J. Dittus, Director of the Smithsonian Primate Biology Program in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The present field book, in two parts, is by S. M. S. Farook, who assisted W. P. J. Dittus in his research. It gives a summary of field notes documenting group of macaques. Dates range from July 8 to August 20, 1970. Notes are organized by troops of monkeys and by time.
