Abstract

This field book is part of the animal research data of the Division of Zoological Research of the National Zoological Park (U. S.), which conducted research documenting the toque macaque of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The research was mostly performed by Research Associate Wolfgang P. J. Dittus, Director of the Smithsonian Primate Biology Program in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The present field book contains copies of field data from a primate survey in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. On the first page of the field book is mentioned "Mr. S. M. S. Farook, Scientific Research in Sri Lanka", who assisted W. P. J. Dittus with the research. On the second page is mentioned a meeting with Mr. Jayantha Uduwara, Assistant Archaeological Commissioner, Dept. of Archaeology in Anuradhapura. The notes, dated July 11 to August 10, 1974, include troop counts, details on animals, drawings and plans.
