PrintEugene Amandus Schwarz (1844-1928) was an important figure in American entomology, especially in the work of the United States National Museum and the United States Department of Agriculture. His papers concern the taxonomy and biology of insects, especially the Coleoptera, and include correspondence and diaries of Schwarz for trips to Florida (1876, 1919), Cuba (1903-1904), Texas and Arizona (1898 and 1901-1902), Guatemala (1906), Panama (1911); diaries and detailed letters listing itineraries of Shannon; biographical information on Hubbard and Schwarz; and notes and miscellaneous publications. This field book shows notes on a trip to Arizona from November 21, 1913 to January 11, 1914, made by Schwarz and Barber to observe how weevils affect cotton.
