Abstract

This folder contains field notes of Fenner Albert Chace (1908-2004), carcinologist in the National Museum of Natural History, Department of Invertebrate Zoology, documenting work in the Ifalik (Ifaluk) Atoll, Micronesia. Within a fabric book cover are included a map of Ifalik Atoll, undated, traced from uncontrolled aerial mosaic, with approximate scale of 1/10000, annotated with stations number and species names; part of an envelope addressed to Fenner A. Chace from the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie in Leiden; and loose leaves of numbered handwritten and printed field notes. The printed ones are a transcript of the manuscript ones. Some additional handwritten notes and a drawing are inserted.
