PrintRobert P. Higgins, born in 1932, is an invertebrate zoologist who held various positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Museum of Natural History, 1968-1996. The Smithsonian Institution Archives house field notes that document his collecting trips around the world. This field book is constituted of cards on field trips to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Venezuela, Japan, Colombia, Azores, and the Canary Islands. The cards are forms, all checked as "logged" and each with an accession number, in which were filled, in various hands, rubrics including a station number, location, depth, sampling method, collector name, name of specimens.
