Abstract

Robert P. Higgins, born in 1932, is an invertebrate zoologist who held various positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Museum of Natural History, 1968-1996. The Smithsonian Institution Archives house field notes that document his collecting trips around the world. This field book includes notes on trips from August 7, 1982 to August 11, 1984 to Ireland, North Carolina and Newfoundland. The notes show stations' names and coordinates, depth, collected specimens, as well as lists of crew and scientists participating in the field trip. At end is inserted a map of Bonne Bay, Newfoundland, Canada.
