Abstract

Robert P. Higgins, born in 1932, is an invertebrate zoologist who held various positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Museum of Natural History, 1968-1996. The Smithsonian Institution Archives house field notes that document his collecting trips around the world. This field book includes notes of a dredging trip to the Florida and Gulf Stream area to collect specimens, from August 2, 1982 to October 16, 1984. The notes give dates, times, locations and depths, with names of collectors and of observed specimens. Additional notes are inserted, including a recipe to preserve tardigrades and other specimens.
