Abstract

The item consists of a list of Allard's specimen no. 20360-21707 collected in the course of his work in Maryland and Virginia from 1952-1953. Dated specimen entries include locality, scientific or common name, and notes regarding growing conditions. The volume also includes narrative journal entries dated June 15, 1952 to August 16, 1953. Narrative entries typically describe localities in more detail, including nearby creek, river, mountain, and highway names and includes numerous descriptions of collecting endeavors along the Potomac river.
