Abstract

Joseph Rosewater (1928-1985) was a malacologist in the Division of Mollusks at the National Museum of Natural History. This folder includes black-and-white photographs from the International Indian Ocean Expedition to Singapore and Colomb, Ceylan, which took place in 1963 on the schooner Te Vega to research the marine fauna in the Indian Ocean. A small piece of paper in the folder has the note: "Kesijan Romimohtanto, Instit. Mar. Res. Djakarta". There are 22 photographs, mostly close-up individual or small-group portraits of people who took part in the expedition. There is no name or date on the pictures, and each has velcro adhesive pieces on its back.
