Abstract

Joseph Rosewater (1928-1985) was a malacologist in the Division of Mollusks at the National Museum of Natural History. This folder includes field notes on loose leaves, written in blue pencil. They are numbered 1898 to 1941 and dated Sept. 5 to 19, 1958. They give the places of specimen collections, the aspect of the water and of bottom grounds, and the species of mollusks found on site. The sites covered were rivers and other aquatic sites in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
