PrintField book of banding forms for field notes that are survey records on migratory birds specimens collected in Egypt for the Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey. From the finding aid (SIA RU000435): "The Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS), a survey of migratory birds, their ectoparasites and the viruses they carry, was conducted in the eastern Mediterranean from 1966 to 1971. The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda. There are five forms per leaf. They are dated from April 17 to May 20, 1970 and numbered: 010-14001 to 010-14269. The banding forms show the name of the bird species, band number, date and locality of capture and release, and data on sex (as determined by plumage, soft parts or otherwise), age (as determined from plumage, soft parts or skull), weight, fat, molt, with additional remarks. A card was inserted in the folder with notes on both sides: "[crossed] Hold. Printed from DPW's", "Checked against printout, retraps entered", "Need to be punched. Intermediate sheet available at SI".
