PrintFolder including a single sheet providing the list of ring numbers used in Israel as part of the Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS). It is in a box containing folders of laboratory forms for the PMS. The survey went from 1966 to 1973. The list gives a range of days for each ring number, mentioning recaptures in 1967. It also provides locations in Israel for each ring number. The rings placed are numbered A-101 to G-1068, not continuously. The rings placed on recapture are numbered A-1048 to B-1012, not continuously. From the finding aid (SIA RU000435): "The Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS), a survey of migratory birds, their ectoparasites and the viruses they carry, was conducted in the eastern Mediterranean from 1966 to 1971. The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda.
