Abstract

The field diary documents preparations and work completed during 1959-1963, including the Bredin-Smithsonian led expedition during 1959 aboard the yatch Mareva, preparations for field work during 1960 and 1962, and his participation on the Bredin-Smithsonian expedition work in 1962. Entries are dated and describe travel details, preparations and logistics, challenges in planning, and field work completed during 1963 in Tahiti. Field work descriptions include details about colleagues, locations, work completed, daily activities, and personal observations.
