Abstract

The field notes document the work of Neal Smith studying gulls on Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada, during May to September 1961. The loose sheets contain dated entries with narrative style entries. These include travel details (including travel by sled-dog), work completed, personal activities, hand drawn maps with location information, routes traveled, weather, field work, interactions with colleagues, and specimen collecting. Includes a draft of a letter and detailed equipment list with descriptions.
