Abstract

Field notes document the work of James Lynch in Belize and Mexico (Quintana Roo, Yucatan, and Campeche), 1988-1990. The notes begin with a catalog of ants collected, with specimen number (e.g. JFL87-64), scientific name, characteristics, and coll number. The catalogue is followed by narrative style entries that are dated, headed with location information, and describe travel details, colleagues with whom worked, field work completed, weather, sample data, specimen lists, drawings of locations, observations of birds and ants, descriptions of habitat. Also contains data tables for results of ant baiting, a printed checklist of the birds of Belize, and ephemera.
