Abstract

Field notes document the work of James Lynch in Belize and Mexico (Quintana Roo, Yucatan, and Campeche), 1985-1987. Contains a photocopied map of Twin Cays, Belize, and unused stamps. Trips to Belize involved studying island distributions and ant-baiting on Twin Cays. Entries are recorded on loose sheets that are dated, headed with location information or route, followed by narrative style entries that describe travel details, work completed, type of ants observed and observations of their behavior, tables of data relating to bait type (sugar and tuna), routes traveled. Also contains species accounts, and notes from a trip to Carrie Bow Cay, Belize, in which he describes wildlife across the island including amphibians, insects and birds.
