Abstract

The collection of photographs and notes relate to William Holmes' field work in Monte Albán in Oaxaca, Mexico, during 1908. Photographs frequently have captions on the verso that list subject matter, location, and source. Several of the images appear to be reference materials Holmes had from Sumner W. Matteson (1867-1920) of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The images show details of carvings found at Oaxaca during June 1907 and area terrain (image undated).
