Abstract

The field notes and drawings document William Holmes' field work in Cozumel and mainland Mexico, during 1895. Includes field drawings of Mayan ruins (oblique views, and aerial view of layouts, often with notations), area landscape, wildlife in habitat (birds in area waterways), local inhabitants, and candid images of travel companions. Notes describe travel route, observations of ruins, environs, wildlife, and interactions with local inhabitants.
