Abstract

The field notes and drawings document William Holmes' study of the Mayan ruins at Chichén Itzá in Mexico during 1895. Includes illustrations in various level of detail; some are field sketches and others intended for publication. Drawings depict architecture details, entire structures, and floorplans, frequently with annotations that include measurements. Notes describe building methods and structure details. Notes identify two structures, the Temple of the Tigers, building referred to as a nunnery.
