Abstract

The daily census maps and individual species maps relate to James Lynch's study of birds at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (Maryland) as part of a breeding bird survey 1995. Individual census maps are heavily annotated. They are pre-printed with a key to symbols used, headed with type of bird (common name); the area to be surveyed is broken in to numbered rows. Markings indicate locations where birds were observed; date and type are sometimes indicated with abbreviations or codes
