Abstract

The documents relate to James Lynch's study of birds at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (Maryland) as part of a breeding bird census during 1992. Contains a report on the 1992 SERC bird census by Richard J. Waynor and summary of observations. Also contains observations recorded on preprinted maps entitled "SERC Bird Census Plot." There is a symbol key for hectare grid post, boundary post, and 50m flagging point. Pages are headed with date, weather, and range of time. Maps are heavily annotated with type of bird observed (entered as abbreviations), and notes for any additional symbols used by observers.
