Abstract

The field sheets document James Lynch's research of habitat found on Chesapeake Bay's western shores in Maryland during spring of 1978. Sheets are preprinted and list patch number (e.g. A4), county, date, quad (e.g. Bowie), quarter (e.g. II), area number, perimeter description, walked measurements with bearing, followed by description of topography, community description, vegetation of surrounding area, and directions to center plot (landmarks and roads in vicinity). Community description and "vegetation of surrounding area" vary across sheets, but generally contain common or scientific names of plants in vicinity as well as general description of vegetation (e.g. mixed forest). Also includes a table of data entitled "herb census" for patch #P15.
