Abstract

The volume documents ectoparasites collected at-sea and on the Leeward Islands (Laysan and Lisianski) during 1966. The notebook is organized by location: at sea, Laysan Island, and Lisianski Island. The first table of data includes cat. number (e.g. 1-00a), field number, host species (scientific name), position coordinates (latitude and longitude), vial number, ectoparasite, location on host, and remarks which include name of collector. The data for Laysan island is in list format, and contains name of host species, date, description of host bird characteristics (e.g. age), and presence or absence of ectoparasites. Section for Lisianski is a table of data listing cat. number, field number, host species, date, ectoparasite, location on host, and remarks. Remarks provide additional information about method of sampling or host.
