Abstract

The folder documents the field work of William Osman relating benthic marine life along the coast of California during 1979. The study involved submerging plates and retrieving them to determine type and abundance of benthic marine life present. Entries are dated (January 30 to December 28, 1979), and contain a mix of description, sometimes in narrative structure. Entries are often headed with weather, first names or initials of colleagues working, followed with details about work completed, conditions in and on the water, work related challenges. Also includes some tables of data relating to plates, locations, and depth.
