Abstract

The journal documents Horton Hobbs' work on aquatic invertebrates in Dominica during 1964. The journal begins with an index listing station number (39 to 100) and location (e.g. Melville Hall) with corresponding pages. Entries are narrative in structure and describe travel details, daily activities and work, interactions with colleagues, descriptions of collecting locations and collecting methods, specimens collected (scientific name), and specimen characteristics. Entries are often detailed and lengthy. It is unclear if pre-printed dates correspond with entry dates.
