Abstract

The box of 35mm slides documents the field work of William Osman relating to benthic marine life and travel during 1979. Slides are images of plates that have been submerged in order to study what species grow in the vicinity. Slides include a variety of information: identifier (e.g. ISK RK1 BOT B) and month and year (e.g. Dec-79). Also includes slides that show landscapes and underwater scenes primarily of vegetation. These slides do not have information recorded on them. The slides are divided into six columns with description on a piece of paper that lines in the inside of the box lid. Information varies in detail, but indicates that images come from Tahiti (possibly Tahiti island in New South Wales), south Australia, New Zealand, as well as plates used during benthic marine study.
