Abstract

The volume documents the field work of Michael J. Sweeney with Brian Kensley and Kristian Fauchald to study marine invertebrates while at Aldabra [Seychelles], during March 21 - April 29, 1983. Includes a variety of entries. The first are dated and describe travel details, weather, logistics, route at sea, types of marine life observed (including fish and sharks), campsites, and time snorkling. Other entries are recorded with data sheets that are pasted into the volume. These list location, date, field no. (AA001 - AA030), time, sta. no. (e.g. MJS-AA-028), latitude and longitude, chart, locality, ecol. habitat, dist. shore, area sampled, tide, depth water, method capture, preservative, photographs, and general notes. Notes include details about type of specimens and characteristics, photographs taken, drawings with notations. At the end of the volume is a pasted insert of a map with notations indicating locations on the south island.
