Abstract

The field book documents the work of Russell Greenberg completed while attending University of California, Santa Cruz, during November 24, 1969 - April 23, 1970. Inside the front cover are quotes from various authors. Entries are dated and contain narratives and lists; narrative text includes a wide variety of content, regarding personal observations and experiences as well as coursework outside the natural sciences (e.g. creative writing). Field notes contain a combination of information including location, class (e.g. mycology), individuals with whom studying, and detailed observations of wildlife, bird lists, drawings with notations,. These include scientific and common name, habitat (including vegetation), characteristics (sex, size) including measurements. Wildlife observed includes a variety of flora and fauna including invertebrates and birds.
