PrintThis diary contains Stejneger's notes from his research in various locations in Bering Island and Copper Island in 28 August to 27 September 1897. Pages are numbered 301 to 350. Stejneger documents daily events and describes his surroundings often noting weather conditions. In this notebook, he describes his efforts to access pup seal mortality in multiple locations on Bering Island. He describes the amount of dead seals, and notes that he was approached and asked to stop his assessment. A table of seals killed is also included with dates and localities.
