Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of S. F. Light on freshwater copepods, undated. Inside the front cover is a list of words and corresponding abbreviations used throughout the volume. Entries are organized by location number, and contain scientific name, description of habitat, observations of copepod abundance, and specimens collected. Sometimes includes elevation. Locations are across California (e.g. San Francisco, Clear Lake, Siskiyou county, Salton Sea, Calaveras Dam) and Illinois. Includes loose inserts such as a list of material from the dipatomus collection sent to Professor Tafall of Mexico in 1943, and a letter sent to Light from Milford Lundgren regarding his collecting methods.
