Abstract

The papers document field work of Paul Bartsch during the Johnson-Smithsonian Deep-Sea Expedition to the Puerto Rico Trench, 1933. Contains a typed transcript of notes from the expedition for dates January 21 to March 9, 1933; correspondence; news clippings; radiograms; memorandums; and a typed list of specimen records for the first cruise of the yacht Caroline, January to March 1933. It lists tin tag number, date, name of object (variety of marine life listed by common or scientific name), and locality. Also contains hand written entries with observations.
