Abstract

The field notes document work of Paul Bartsch aboard the U.S.S. Kittery during travel from Norfolk, Virginia to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, during June 12 - September 23, 1929. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. They describe travel details and conditions, travel routes, work completed, inserted documents, lists of expenses, notes about colleagues, hand drawn maps with notations, lists of specimens collected (scientific name, quantity and characteristics), and observations.
