Abstract

The black and white photographs document field work of Paul Bartsch during Smithsonian-Roebling Expedition to Cuba photographs during 1937. It is the second of two folders. The photographs include captions that record a combination of location information, subject matter, and names of individuals pictured. Images show coastlines and beaches; at sea; streets and buildings in Santiago [Santiago de Cuba], Cuba; members of the expedition; candid images of the Roebling family members and crew in Guantanamo, Cuba; wildlife including birds and lizards (identified by common name); vegetation; the vessel Jose Enrique.
