Abstract

The volume documents the field work of Paul Bartsch during the Albatross Philippine Expedition, for the dates: January 18 - August 20, 1908. Entries are dated and are narrative in structure. They describe daily work and activities, observations of birds and invertebrates, and ship movements. There are entries organized by what appears to the station number (D.5208) that contains information about location, readings relating to water conditions, and wildlife present. Entry descriptions often include time of day. Contains numerous hand drawn maps with notations. There are notes in the margins highlighting entry content relating to location or type of wildlife. Locations include but are not limited to Balayan Bay, Negros Island, and Nusa Takbu Channel in the Philippines. Includes loose inserts with notes.
