Abstract

The two volumes document the field work of Stillman Wright in Brazil during 1933-1935. The first volume includes loose inserts in the notebook that contain observations and miscellaneous notes. Entries in the black volume are headed with location and date (October 16, 1935 - December 14, 1935) and lists measurements relating to water quality and sampling of plankton. Measurements include but are not limited to temperature, ph, carbon dioxide levels. Also includes description of water appearance (e.g. color and clarity). There are narrative descriptions of plankton populations. |Entries in the second volume contain entries for October 9, 1933 - February 9, 1934. They are headed with date and location or trip, followed with narrative description of habitat (e.g. vegetation), fauna (e.g. snails and shells), water characteristics and measurements (e.g. ph, temperature).
